Flow Blue

A break in the rain, and a color lesson from my garden.  Cymbidium blossoms in a flow blue sugar bowl.

  1. My first thought on seeing your orchids was, "she must live in California" !
They are so beautiful and look fantastic against that goldish wall. Where do they grow in your garden, would love to see a photo . I've never actually seen them growing anywhere except in a nursery or a florist's shop !

    1. Many species of cymbidium love the cool damp nights of San Francisco. I have a massive collection growing in the alley alongside my house. They are not as delicate as you think ~ orchids love overcrowding and neglect!

  2. Thoughts...

-no fair! Growing in the alley? Geez... We grow weeds in our alleys here.

    -love the flow blue (check)
-love the cymbidium color with the flow blue (check)
-is the marble real or painted? (could be either, knowing you...)

  3. My mother has a nice collection of flow blue all hanging on the wall. How nice to see this with the beautiful orchids against the blue! Lovely contrast.

    1. yes Paul- they thrive on overcrowding and neglect. Also cool foggy nights and indirect sunshine!
